The new single ‘You and I’ is the first release of 2022 by UK-based songwriter and producer Marc Matthews, via Retro Reverb Records, and precedes a debut EP release in spring 2022. The song ‘You and I’ is a modern synthpop song that retains the warmth and vibe of classic 80s synth ballads, coupled with modern pop vocals and production. ‘You and I’ is a synthpop ballad with a dark edge that shines a light on the theme of control within a relationship and the loss and void left by it. ‘You and I’ is for fans of modern synthpop production with a dark twist and acts such as Nina, Haim, Halsey, and Wolf Alice.
